We’re now on the second leg of my Indian survey site tour. In my first review, I covered Ormax Online Review, thanks to experience and input of my buddy Sanjay. Right now I’ll be reviewing Xcel-Online Surveys. The survey site scene seems to be experiencing an upswing in the Indian market. Xcel-Online Surveys looks to be one of the companies looking to take advantage of that boom.
If your a resident of India and wondering whether Xcel-Online Surveys is legit, read this Xcel-Online Surveys review!
But before we go on, let me explain how I learned about Xcel-Online Surveys when I’m not Indian. Here’s part of the intro I wrote in my previous review:
Working in construction, I get to meet a lot of people from different countries. I love meeting people from different cultures and getting to know them. One of the things that surprised me was how many people use survey sites. Using survey sites has become so common that it’s become a bit of an ice-breaker.
Last week, I met Sanjay, a gentleman who worked for our partner company in India. Sanjay and I talked a lot about survey sites, and it turns out there are a lot of sites that cater exclusively to the Indian market. We talked about Ormax Online and Xcel Online Survey.
Sanjay gave me a detail run-down of how the sites work, what’s good about them, and what’s not.
So I’m writing this review with the help and input of Sanjay. Okay, with that out of the way, let’s get this show on the road!
About Xcel-Online Surveys
It’s pretty common for survey sites to be owned by a larger market research company. Xcel-Online Surveys is owned and operated by a company called Market Xcel. The mother company is pretty massive; they were founded in 2000, and since then have become one of the larger market research companies in India.
Market Xcel has serviced over 90 brands. Xcel-Online Surveys has over 3 million members with over 1,500 new members registering monthly. Pretty impressive!
Xcel-Online Surveys is just okay. The design is not super-impressive, but it’s not bad either. What I do like is the fact that it has a pretty extensive FAQ section, as well as other details on the other aspects of the company.
They also like to show how much people have earned on the site, but that section hasn’t been updated since August 2017.
My Hot Take: The site gave me a positive impression overall. They could have updated the sections showing how much people have been earning, but I won’t count that as a major negative.
How to Earn on Xcel-Online Surveys
After registering on the site (more on that in a bit) you will get notifications via email about available surveys. Once you complete a survey, you will receive points which you can then redeem as cash or other rewards. These surveys take anywhere from 5 minutes up to 15 minutes to complete.
Since some surveys have deadlines, it’s really important that you answer these surveys as soon as you receive the notification. Also, the site might close a survey as soon as they receive enough answers. So answering surveys quickly is a must if you want to get paid. Because of that, Sanjay recommends using a dedicated email address just for Xcel-Online Surveys. That way, notifications don’t get lost or buried under spam.
Take note, Xcel-Online Surveys has a pretty advanced algorithm that can spot inconsistent or “wrong” answers. While it’s true there’s no such thing as a wrong answer when it comes to personal opinions, you need to be consistent with your opinions. For example, if you say you prefer X brand of shampoo in one question, then suddenly flip and say you prefer brand Y later on, the site may flag you and invalidate your survey. So make sure you answer the surveys accurately and honestly.
You will get 10 points whenever one of your referrals joins the site and completes their first survey. It’s a pretty simply referral program, but it’s better than nothing.
My Hot Take: I would have liked to see other earning methods, but as long as a site has a rock-solid survey program, it’s all good.
Earning Potential on Xcel-Online Surveys
Surveys pay an average of 60 Indian rupees each ($1 is roughly equivalent to Indian rupees 68.59), but can go as low as 5 points and as high as 200 points.
The average earning seems to be around 500 points per month, or 500 rupees. Your own earnings may vary based on the number of surveys you qualify for, and the time you spend completing surveys.
There will be times when you won’t get any new survey notifications. That’s because the surveys the site has don’t fit your demographic. For example, if your a mother of two kids, Xcel-Online Surveys won’t assign you surveys targeting males.
My Hot Take: The earning potential per survey is actually pretty good! These Indian survey sites really got their game on when it comes to payout amounts.
Payout Options on Xcel-Online Surveys
As mentioned earlier, 1 point is equivalent to 1 rupee. When you’ve accumulated a minimum of 325 points, you can request a payout either as cash or merch from their catalog. Take note, though: it may take 4 to 6 weeks for your earnings to reflect on your profile.
My Hot Take: Six weeks is way too long to wait for your earnings to appear on your profile. In fact, anything over a couple of days is too long for me. But six weeks? You may want to think long and hard about this before trying out the site.
How to Join Xcel-Online Surveys
It’s really simple. Indian residents ages 15 and above can join. To register simply follow the link below:
Registration Page: https://community.xcel-onlinesurveys.com/regist
Make sure you provide complete and accurate personal info. The site needs that information to assign you surveys that are suitable to your profile and demographic.
The Verdict: Legit or Scam?
Xcel-Online Surveys is legit! It takes too long for credits to appear in your earnings, but overall, Sanjay says this is a sold site. But it’s recommended that you manage your expectations and expect to wait a bit before you can redeem your earnings.
