SurveySheep Review Find Paid Surveys Through this Site.jpg

For my next review, I’ll be reviewing a survey router instead of a survey site. Survey routers don’t actually provide surveys themselves. They act as portals that connect you to third-party survey websites.

That survey router is SurveySheep, a company with a cute name. Is SurveySheep legit, or is it a wolf in sheep’s clothing? Read my SurveySheep Review to find out!

SurveySheep: First Impressions

What’s up with survey-related sites and animals? I’ve seen sites named after cats, spiders, panthers, pandas, monkeys… there’s practically a zoo of survey sites and routers out there! Part of me thinks it’s branding. The rewards scene is full of companies with pretty generic names (you can only create so many combinations of “survey”, “research”, and “earn”), but when you name it after a cute animal? Instant recognition!

The thing about SurveySheep’s site, though, is that it looks pretty generic. Actually, it kind of looks like a relic from the late 90s. I even had to check that the site is still in operation just to be sure. The design is pretty bland, and there’s the clichéd stock photo of a person pumping her fist while using a laptop.

On the upside, the site has pretty extensive info about how it works and what you’re getting into. There’s also a detailed FAQ page, which is always good to have.

My Hot Take: There’s nothing alarming here, but I’m not excited either. Overall, a pretty lukewarm first impression. But let’s dig deeper.

How to Earn on SurveySheep

Since SurveySheep is a survey router, that means it doesn’t have any earning methods in and of itself. But it does connect you to a wide range of survey sites, many of which have multiple earning methods. These methods can include answering surveys, watching videos, reading emails, and taking offers. Methods can differ, so be sure to scope out the scene first after your register.

My Hot Take: I think this is a decent option if you’re new to the survey site scene. SurveySheep narrows down the options for you, and that could be a helpful thing.

Earning Potential and Payout Options on SurveySheep

Since SurveySheep is a router, I’ll be combining the two sections for this review. Your earnings will depend on the surveys you take on the third party sites. And that, in turn, will depend on the amount of surveys you qualify for on those sites. So my safe (but realistic) answer is: “it depends.”

The good thing, though, is that since the site will present you more surveys from more sites (at least in theory) you can earn more money. You’re multiplying your earning capacity by the number of survey sites you get connected to.

My Hot Take: I can’t really comment, since the SurveySheep doesn’t pay you, but I will say it’s good to have a wider scope of survey sites to use.

How to Join SurveySheep

Memberships are free for anyone ages 13 and above. You can register by clicking the “Sign Up” button at the top of the homepage. I’ll be giving you a link below. Ka-chow:

I appreciate the fact that memberships are free. I’m pretty averse to websites that require an upfront membership fee, or worse, a processing fee before you can get your earnings. So everything looks good here.

The Verdict: Legit or Scam?

SurveySheep is legit! But I think it’s best used by newbies who aren’t familiar with which survey sites are legit, or which ones are scams. Survey site veterans will already know which sites to check out. Still, I think SurveySheep provides a useful utility for many people.

I decided to go for broke and sign up with Survey Sheep because it sounded intriguing and new (and fluffy). I would have come up with a full Survey Sheep review myself but I see that Amos beat me to it :) I don’t mind! It just means that we can compare notes.

I do agree that it’s legit, but only because survey aggregators or “middlemen” like Survey Sheep aren’t technically considered a scam. However, since most of us here already know the kind of survey sites that are legit in terms of earning, not getting screened out (or at least getting disqualified is reduced to a minimum), and other vexing issues that can be avoided, I don’t think we really need a third-party portal for them. We can look for them ourselves - it’s what this forum is here for, after all. Sure, a lot of the sites you can see on SurveySheep are legit, but I’m not sure I want to be a tool for referral fees by another site when I can just do research on my own. I have plenty of time to do so - I’m a WAHM!

Signing up to SurveySheep may be free, but it’s pointless. There, I said it. I will not recommend this to anyone who doesn’t want their time wasted.

SurveySheep is a leader, not a sheep! (sorry had to say that). I used to be averse to survey routers - I thought survey walls was where it’s at - but I eventually warmed up to the idea of survey routers such as SurveySheep.

For those unfamiliar with survey routers, basically they’re like a portal, as Amos mentioned in his SurveySheep review above. I used to think these sites were pretty useless. Why go for a router when I can use a survey wall, right? I agree with what Amos said that survey routers like SurveySheep increase your scope. Basically, you’re getting intel on several different sites. And that’s pretty valuable intel.

The downside to this is, as June mentioned, is that SurveySheep is basically earning a referral fee from those other sites when you take a survey on their sites. But hey, it’s a win-win, I guess. You get intel, SurveySheep gets their referral fees. So it’s all good.

With that said, I recommend SurveySheep just as a way to familiarize yourself with how these sites operate. Once you get a good feel for what rewards and survey sites do, you can move on and strike off on your own. Who knows, you might even find a great survey wall you can share with us!
