As someone who always prefers getting paid in cash for survey sites and GPT sites, I always get excited when I come across one that does exactly that - pay in cash. Or at least promises to. See, I juggle several of these sites and I’ve managed to categorize the main ones I can actually see myself earning from, from the ones that I call “spare tire” sites. Those ones either a) don’t earn me a lot but which I can go back to once in a while, and b) give me a chance to earn but need some time to reach the minimum for cashing out, or c) take some time to process my cash outs.
Sounds complicated? Not really; not if you’re someone who has taken survey completion seriously and have a system in place the way I have. Today, I encountered Pureprofile, a cash-rewarding survey site for the first time, which is honestly odd because it’s been around for quite a long time now. So it got me thinking - is it an old site because it’s a legit one, or has it just been around because people avoid it like the plague for being a scam? Let’s investigate further.
First things first - what is it?
In their About page, Pureprofile describes their process as “Build your profile by answering questions about yourself, your habits and your lifestyle. The more opinions you share, the more your profile gets to know you – and the more valuable it becomes.”
How long has it been around?
Based in Australia, Pureprofile has been around since 2002 (according to site info). There are now apps for both iOS and Android users (linked below) for those who want their surveys on the go. Pureprofile looks to be available to users worldwide.
Is registration free?
Yes, registration is free. As previously mentioned, registration is open internationally for members aged 13 years and older.
How do I start earning extra income from Pureprofile?
Unlike other survey panels, Pureprofile doesn’t give points for completed surveys, but outward cash rewards, plus e-gift cards and movie tickets. So basically, you’re going to be seeing in your account how much money you’ve earned by answering surveys so far. In order to redeem earnings in cash, you will need a minimum of $25, processed within 30 business days. Strangely enough, there is a MAXIMUM cash redemption of $50 within a 60-day period - which is really weird, as if they don’t want people to enjoy their earnings too much.
But here’s an even weirder deal. Describing their “new user experience”, Pureprofile actually goes on to say ask “Live outside Australia? We haven’t forgotten about you. We’re hoping to launch new rewards local to your region over the coming weeks and months. Stay tuned for updates.” So, anyone outside Australia is just going to stay tuned for I am not sure how long. At this point, I don’t see why they have to go through all the trouble of opening themselves up for international registration if only people from Australia can use their platform, anyway.
What’s the best option of earning as a Pureprofile member?
As a firm believer in the passive income-generating potential of referral systems, I will say this one is always a good option to earn. There is a referral system going on at Pureprofile, with each referred person who registers and completes two surveys within 30 days earning you $2. But since I am not in Australia, I doubt if this one is even a good option for me. Referring friends from other countries won’t earn you anything.
The verdict?
Even with the promise of a direct deposit for your earnings, if you can't even earn enough to meet the site’s trigger payout - or if you aren’t from the host country Australia - then it’s probably not a good idea to sign up in the first place. The allure of earning actual cash is doused by the high minimum amount plus the length of time it takes to process. I do see some good feedback for Pureprofile from a couple of years ago, plus joining doesn’t cost a thing so I won’t be completely writing this off as a scam survey site...yet. However, a majority of the good feedback comes from Australia, which is a no-brainer at this point.
But in all honesty, I don’t see myself spending time on this site, not even for a spare-tire survey panel I can keep on the back burner. Probably not even after one of their Pureprofile rehauls which hopefully will include other countries this time. I do believe there are better ones out there I can earn from, right here and right now.
