The survey site space can be a bit daunting for anyone new to it. The Earn That Buck community is awesome when it comes to pointing out which sites are legit, and which ones are scams. Survey routers are also there to help beginners navigate these waters. What these sites do is consolidation “route” surveys for the member to take.
Today, I’ll be reviewing one such site: Opinion Router. This site presents members with surveys from other sites. If you’ve been wondering whether Opinion Router is legit, check out my review!
How to Earn on Opinion Router
As mentioned a while ago, Opinion Router is a survey router. That means they don’t actually provide surveys themselves; they’re a survey aggregator for members.
What Opinion Router does is present you surveys from other providers. For every survey you complete, Opinion Router pays you in cash - no points to tally up and convert to real-world dollars.
You can answer a maximum of three surveys from different survey providers. But there’s no guarantee that you’ll actually qualify for that number of surveys. And if you get disqualified, there’s no way to know why.
Yep, disqualification is still a reality here. You can get booted out in the middle of a survey if the site’s algorithm decides you’re not the correct demographic for the survey, or if the site has already gotten enough answers.
But what I like about Opinion Router is that if you get disqualified in the middle of taking a survey, they will provide a small consolation amount. All you need to do is send them a screenshot when you get disqualified. But take note, you need to do this within 48 hours of the incident.
Are There Other Earning Options?
There used to be. Opinion Router, back when it was called Daily Survey Board, had lots of earning methods, including answering surveys, taking offers, and a referral program. But since they turned into Opinion Router, they’ve stuck with just providing surveys from third parties.
It’s disappointing not to have a referral program. Referrals are a great back-up plan for earning when surveys aren’t available.
My Hot Take: I’m not a fan of third-party survey providers - I prefer finding surveys on the survey sites themselves. But a site like Opinion Router has its place, especially for survey site beginners who want a site that consolidates surveys for them.
I also get why there isn’t a referral program here; technically, you can’t refer friends and family to Opinion Routers because they’re not a survey site.
But with all that said, my take on this isn’t very hot… it’s more lukewarm.
Earning Potential on Opinion Router
The surveys the site presents you with will earn around 50 cents to $1 or so. The pay per survey depends on its length and complexity. They usually take about five or so minutes to complete, but there are also much longer ones - those ones pay more, of course.
The site says you answer a maximum of three surveys from different survey providers, but you won’t always have surveys to take. Personally, it’s not unheard of for me to receive 10 survey notifications and qualify for only one of those.
Basically, your monthly earnings will rely heavily on how many surveys you qualify for. The funny thing is, I consider myself a pretty generic demographic. Maybe the surveys were looking for something ultra-specific?
My Hot Take: While I can’t say for sure what your earnings will be like, I would recommend managing your expectations here. There will most likely be times when your earnings will be a bit low on Opinion Router.
Payout Options on Opinion Router
Currently, there is only one payout method: PayPal. Personally, I don’t mind PayPal only - because cash is king, baby! But other members who prefer gift cards and other rewards may be disappointed here.
PayPal payments are made around 24- to 72-hours after requesting a payout. You won’t have to shoulder any fees (thankfully) but Opinion Router recommends that you use a personal PayPal account to avoid getting hit with unexpected fees.
Taxation
US residents who earn $600 and above on Opinion Router will be required to provide a social security number and complete a Form 1099 for tax reporting purposes. It is your responsibility to fully declare all your earnings on this site (and any other site you may be using).
My Hot Take: I’m down for PayPal payments only. But anyone who prefers gift cards may be better serviced on other survey sites.
How to Join
Membership is open for anyone ages 18 and above, and participation and registration is completely free. Joining is really simple - head over to their home page, which I’ll be linking below. Ka-chow:

No actual registration is needed, and that’s because all you have to do to become a member is provide your PayPal email address. I’m not so sure about how I feel about that. I like to keep my PayPal and membership email addresses separate. But you your opinion might differ.
The Verdict: Legit or Scam?
Opinion Router is legit. They’re a legit site that will legit pay you. But as a frequent survey site user, I know I can just go directly to all those third-party sites.
But for survey site beginners, this might be a good option.
