I enjoy finding new GPT (“Get paid to…”) sites as much as actually using them. The more legit sites I have bookmarked, the better my earning potential.
During my searches, I discovered EarnHoney and gave them a try. Are they legit or a scam? Read on to find out!
How Does This Work?
On EarnHoney , you earn points (or “Honey Dollars”) for watching videos, playing games, completing offers, and taking surveys. Basically, stuff you already do online. You won’t become rich doing these, but chances are you do these things anyway. So it’s cool to have a way to make money doing them.
After you register, a video will play, which will earn you 30 Honey Dollars. Make sure you finish watching the video to be eligible for the reward.
Let’s talk about the different earning methods in a bit more detail:
Watching Videos
EarnHoney has a bunch of promo videos that you can earn Honey Dollars for watching. I earned most of my money on the site watching videos. I even discovered a way to turn this into a sort of passive income, which I will discuss later.
Playing Games
EarnHoney actually has only one game - 2048. The game consists of moving number tiles to form the number 2048.
The site plays ads while you play the game, and you’ll earn 3 Honey Dollars every ten minutes.
Completing Offers
This method requires you to sign up for an offer of some sort. It could be the fastest way to earn, but expect to have your email inbox bombarded after you sign-up. If you do try this method, make sure you unsubscribe after the offer period is done, or you might get charged for the actual service.
Taking Surveys
In addition to watching videos, taking surveys will be your main earning method on the site. They’re pretty simply surveys and pay 5 Honey Dollars each.
The site matches your profile with relevant surveys, but I’ve experienced being bumped out after I started filling out the survey. That’s a pretty big bummer. It would be a deal-breaker if it weren’t for the video-watching tasks, which are lucrative enough for me.
Earning Potential with EarnHoney
On EarnHoney, you earn in a currency is called “Honey Dollars.” One honey dollar is equivalent to $0.01.
As with every GPT site, the amount you make varies, and depends on the time you put in. If you have fast internet (preferably without a bandwidth cap) you can earn a dollar a day just by letting the videos play all day. It’s almost like passive, easy income.
In addition to watching videos and playing the 2048 game, completing surveys will be your bread and butter on the site. You can also try taking the fee offers, but make sure you unsubscribe as soon as the free trial period is done.
Keep completing offers, watching videos, and taking surveys, and you should earn a good deal of pocket money. I say pocket money because you won’t get rich doing stuff on EarnHoney. But you will make enough money for beer or a fun night out!
Payment Methods
You can convert your Honey Dollars to cash (sent via PayPal) or an Amazon gift card. If you’re feeling generous, you could even donate your earnings via the site.
Take note, there’s a $2 (equivalent to 200 Honey Dollars) minimum cash out amount. I recommend saving up your Honey Dollars for a bigger payday.
The Pros and Cons of EarnHoney
EarnHoney is a legitimate GPT site. But that said, it’s not perfect. To help you gauge the site better, here are the pros and cons of the site.
Pros
It’s completely free to use. One of the red flags I look out for when checking out GPT sites is whether they ask for money first. That’s pretty shady to me because I should be the one making money off the site, not the other way around. Fortunately, EarnHoney doesn’t do that.
Keeping the videos running is a pretty good “life hack” when using EarnHoney. The other tasks you do are super-easy, but they can get a bit tiring and repetitive. When you keep videos running, you’re basically making passive income. But be mindful of your bandwidth!
Cons
I’ve had experiences where the videos didn’t work. This is odd, since watching videos is a big part of the site. You’d think they would be on top of this.
While taking surveys, I sometimes get rejected midway.
Customer service leaves much to be desired. I emailed them about the two previous items, but have yet to receive a satisfactory reply.
The Verdict: Legit or Scam?
EarnHoney is legit! But that said, it leaves a lot to be desired. The user experience was sometimes unreliable, and their customer service wasn’t the best.
You can still earn pocket money through the site, but I recommend relegating them to your list of backup sites.
