Lots of people swear by these before joining a new site but after seeing how easy it is to fake one I would rather go by the recommendations of people I know and trust on my earning sites. There are even Youtube vids showing how to fake a payment proof so is it really a dependable way of showing whether a site is legitimate? Do you trust them?

I don't think its possible to fake a screenshot. The payment proofs that I know are easily faked are those that are always posted in the website.

I rely on my screenshots to show people that a site really does pay, Its scary that someone would believe that people are faking them :(

Of course it's possible to fake screenshots, however I do not see why anyone would want to waste their time producing 5 to 10 different fake payout screenshots as people would quickly post online if it's a scam or if the site is not paying. Just look at ETB how fast chatter is spreading that GiftHulk is not paying anymore.

I know those are making wonders,to alter pics etc,but till now it didn't occurred to me that somebody want to post fake payment proofs. What would be the use of it?Maybe gaining more direct referrals to his sites?Maybe this could be a reason to do that.
Maybe. It's hard to tell why some people are doing it. :)

I am really careful about who I believe when it comes to screenshots. They can be faked and people take advantage of this. A person cannot be too careful online these days. It can most certainly be a pain in the rear to wade through these. I try to do a search for sites that are recommended to me. If there are several complaints about a site, I skip it.

I think it depends on who is complaining and how many there are complaining. If it's only 1 or 2, then I will not believe that the site is bad but only if there are more people who are talking great about it.

We can't always trust anything in the net but why people would do that? Why would they fake a payment proof? Just like you i would consider both, reviews in different sites and payment proof as well.
Maybe they are forum owners who are trying to encourage more people to join their site. Money Gold Forum had payment proofs but they still stopped paying in the end. Sites which initially pay sometimes fail but I guess that's a risk we take with all sites.

Payment proofs can be altered. I see alot of this on facebook. People also use the same pics and other peoples pics over and over

Payment proof might be good to motivate you to join a new earning site. You are right about it,it is important to read some reviews too about those sites,to know for sure if they are genuine and paying, and not to waste your time on them.
That's right, payment proof alone isn't quit convincing. Having both the payment proof plus reviews can really serve our purpose well.

I love this conversation. A proof of payment can be faked with something as simple as Google developer tools. When look at payment proofs, the most important thing, if the image looks legit, is to look at the post history of the person posting the proof.

Any new user of a community that posts a payment proof isn't really selling it.

However, anybody who is a valuable and reliable member of the community that posts a payment proof is much more valid to me.

Anytime I see a new site that looks like something I am interested in, I do look for payment proof. Yes proofs can be faked, so I take into consideration the amount of the payment. If its a few dollars, I wont be as judgemental as I would someone with a payment of several hundred dollars. If a person is that hard up to fake a $1, $2, $3 dollar payment, thats ridiculous. But I will look for several people with payment proofs, not just one.
