Who doesn’t like gift cards? Customers prefer them, retailers love giving them away - and why not? For the former, it’s one great way to ensure you will only get presents you actually like, and for the latter, well, it’s a foolproof way to make their merch move (or fly off the shelves, depending on the retailer).
This could be the reason why online rewards sites have picked up the gift card system of rewarding their members for completing tasks. InstaGC is one of those. And while lots of people looking to make instant extra cash prefer getting paid real money for doing small tasks, some actually like the idea of getting paid in gift cards.
With that said, is InstaGC a legit GPT site, or a scam? Let’s investigate further.
First things first - what is it?
As previously mentioned, it’s another get-paid-to (GPT) website, which means you can earn points or rewards by doing normal online things like watching videos, playing games, and browsing content. By its name alone though, you can already tell that InstaGC redeems earned points for gift cards from popular retailers like Amazon and Walmart. However, there is also a PayPal reward redemption system available for members, so yay!
How long has it been around?
InstaGC has been around since 2011, which is a pretty long time to be a GPT website. It’s based in Sellersburg, IN, and is owned and operated by Day Online Solutions, LLC. InstaGC is now currently open to members worldwide.
Does it pay well?
As of this writing, the site claims to now have 1,096,400+ gift cards redeemed, with a link to see redemption proof. When I clicked on it, I was taken to their Facebook page with photo albums bearing different months and years, containing all the the usernames and amount redeemed for each month. All gift cards are issued electronically, so there’s no fear of losing a physical gift card in the mail.
A quick glance at the photos tells me that the average PayPal amount redeemed is $300, while the gift cards redeemed from Walmart, Amazon, and other retailers average to about $50 each. Repeat users are featured on the albums, so it’s a good way to gauge if members are indeed staying active long enough to earn hundreds of dollars on the site.
In InstaGC, a hundred points equals a dollar. So for a member to redeem $300 or more from the site means they had a bit of waiting to do (or else they really spend a lot of time completing tasks on InstaGC). At any rate, I will let you do your personal math to see if it’s worth your while.
Is registration free?
Signing up is totally free. There are no maintaining fees required.
How do I start earning extra income from InstaGC?
Once you’ve signed up and gotten your 10 point signup bonus, you can refer friends and relatives to sign up as well. Each confirmed referral will instantly give you bonus earnings - but it doesn’t stop there! You will also get 10% of your referrals’ earnings, and can even participate in the site’s weekly and monthly contests which reward the members with the most number of referrals.
You can watch videos, download some apps, complete offers, search the web, click on links, and take surveys. Once you’ve earned points, you can redeem them for instant gift cards along with the code details. There’s a list of gift card retailers along with drop down menus for product/service categories, a list of countries, and amount to be redeemed. The products and services to choose from have an impressive variety: from flowers, shoes, clothes, books, movie and theater, travel, auto parts, restaurants, mobile phones and gadgets, through to sporting goods, coffee, health, gaming, and just about everything in-between!
What is the best way to earn from InstaGC?
I’m a sucker for referral systems, since it means using my powers of persuasion to convince others to sign up, after which I can sit back, relax, and watch my credits grow as each referral signs up. The really great thing about InstaGC is that there’s no restriction on the number of referrals you can make.
InstaGC gives you a 10 point earning every time a referral signs up and is confirmed. These referrals have to be from the US, UK, Canada, or Australia only - any other referral outside these countries won’t earn you any bonus points.
The verdict?
InstaGC has earned an A-rated accreditation with the Better Business Bureau and it’s been around for more than a decade, making it legit for many people. Then again, being legit doesn’t necessarily mean you can give up a better-paying, more reliable freelance job for it.
But since a great variety of e-commerce shops are available for gift card redemption, I’m willing to give this one a spin. For me, it’s a good way to earn some pocket money, and over time, even some cash or gift card options for holiday shopping (which is a good few months away, anyway). At any rate, it looks like a good GPT site to try making a bit of fun extra income.
