Today, I am going to discuss and review the legitimacy of ClixSense , a GPT website popular among extra income seekers needing a quick buck. It’s just one in hundreds of reward sites and apps offering a way to make extra income, so of course, you would want some reassurance that it’s not another scam. So without further ado, let’s investigate what it offers and see if and how it could make you some extra cash.
First things first - what is it?
It’s an online rewards website. It’s for job seekers like you and me looking to make some extra cash on the side by participating in their clients’ market research. You can make money with them either by taking free paid surveys or by receiving up to 30% of the earnings of your referrals.
How long has it been around?
ClixSense was founded in February 2007. Eventually, they changed their business model to accommodate more ways to make money, such as with referrals, paid surveys (one of their more popular options), cash offers for watching videos and signing up on sites and completing different tasks.
Does it pay well?
In their home and About Me pages, ClixSense claims to have paid out more than $32 million (and growing) to its members by far. Payments are in US dollars and are issued via electronic cashouts like Payoneer, Tango Card, Payza, and Skrill.
As described in their FAQ, you can earn anything between a couple of cents to several dollars per completed task - depending on how easy or complicated it is. There is a promise of “unlimited earnings potential”, though for you to actually unlock that, you will have to work extra hard on more complicated tasks. More money can be earned if you make more referrals, and if your referrals, in turn, complete their tasks. It really depends on a lot of circumstances.
Is registration free?
It is totally free. Signing up is easy. You simply need to enter your name, a verifiable email address, and a new password. You are also encouraged to install ClixAddOn, which can help you keep track of your account status, as well as get the newly available survey or task notifications. Also, you will need to complete your Survey Profile so that ClixSense will be able to use it for better survey tasking.
How do I start earning extra income right away from ClixSense?
You can win $10 instantly just by playing ClixGrid, a grid-based game for members. You are allowed to play 30 times a day. It requires just randomly clicking on the grids of the image so it’s really all about luck and chance. There’s a daily list of instant winners under a tab in case you’re wondering if it’s fake.
Take note: this is the only game on the website where you can actually earn money - all the other games in there are simply for entertainment purposes with no financial rewards.
How do I make money from completing surveys?
The first survey you will complete has a lot to do with how qualified you are for completing other surveys. It’s important to answer honestly and with consistency, because the site can detect if your answers are inconsistent, which can affect your earnings in turn.
Most of the surveys are demographically and geographically targeted, as well, which is why it’s best to fill out your Survey Profile as thoroughly as you can. This means the pay rate also depends upon your location, because surveys for developed countries are more numerous and can earn up to $5 each, compared to developing ones which are more scarce and can only earn members a maximum of $2.50 per completed survey.
According to ClixSense, surveys are “not always available and you will not always qualify for one”, but they encourage you to keep trying.
What could be the reason I haven’t been credited for surveys yet?
You can always see your current earnings by month and year in your account, and what you’ve earned in the previous month or year. If you think you’re due or overdue to receive money from ClixSense and haven’t, there are a number of possible reasons for that. One is that you may have clicked on a red flag survey, which upfront tells members that payment will be made 30 days after completion (other regular tasks credit pay almost immediately).
You can also check on your survey status, which can tell you if you have successfully completed the survey, or you were “screened out” while trying to finish a survey - this means you did not match the survey requirements and were therefore deemed ineligible for it. Other reasons for not getting credit for a survey include a full quota, meaning there were enough participants in the survey and you didn’t make the cut-off, or they closed off the survey altogether before you can even participate.
The verdict?
So is ClixSense a legit way to make extra money? My answer would be yes, based on the many trusted money-making platform reviewers who are current members and who can vouch for its legitimacy.
But would it be something I will recommend quitting a regular-paying gig to become a full-time thing? Nope, not at all. The wait time for cashout can be chafing - usually within 4-5 business days but with the possibility of delays of up to 15 days! I personally think it’s a good way to make a bit of cash in-between more fulfilling and faster-paying freelance work, but not anything beyond that.
