Cash or GiftCards: Which do you prefer?

The sites I belong to, I cashout with Paypal or Amazon , I like a little of both. If I have the cash I tend to spend it right away on things I dont always need. But if I get Amazon, I can hoard it till needed. Ive paid for many Christmas's, ordered items that broke and I needed to replace, ordered Dog/Cat food when I was down on cash with my Amazon money. So both come in handy

In the past I always went for Paypal but more recently I have been choosing Amazon gift cards. It's worth it for me as I buy quite a lot from them. I always make sure that the cards are for Amazon.co.uk because I once chose one that was only for Amazon.com. the US site, and I wasn't able to return it.

I agree with you. Amazon gift cards are a great alternative where I can always use the entire balance and the amounts we are cashing out are not exactly in the 1000s. If it’s over 50 dollars I would always prefer cash though.

I prefer cash to gift cards.With cash you'll be able to plan on yourself well and you can purchase what you've always wanted .Also,you will be able to receive the cash faster in your wallet unlike receiving a gift cards.
On the contrary gifts will make you get what you have never thought of buying.

The reason I now choose Amazon is because I get the full amount. Being in the UK we get such a large deduction after the conversion fee. $5 buys just a few sweets for us but if paypal is the only option I let it build up a bit to make it a worthwhile amount.

It depends. I am on sites that pay through Paypal and some sites that only pay through gift cards. In which case, I will choose the Amazon gift card. I will let them build up and use them for Birthday or Christmas presents. This way I don't have to use my cash. However, if there is a choice I typically use the PayPal option. I usually need the cash more so that I can pay bills, buy gas, or groceries.

I would prefer Paypal because we are always in need of money but I will accept Amazon. It also depends on the credit ratio. Some sites charge way more points to convert to Paypal than they do gift cards or Amazon. It just depends on the sites and the point conversion. If the point conversion is the same or close to the same I want cash money in my Paypal.

it depends on the site for me. some sites have a higher cashout threshold for paypal (like swagbucks...in the states you only can cashout starting at 25 dollars) so on those sites i usually get amazon gftcards or other giftcards i want. if the site has a smaller level for paypal (like instagc you can cashout for as low as 1 dollar) i get paypal. if the site has the same point level to get equal amount in paypal or amazon giftcards its whichever im wanting that day.

look for it in your old mail its worth something for a american maybe a deal of some kind could be made

@tusziget in the past I have done that, passed up sites because they didnt pay in paypal or amazon which is the two I go for most. Now days they have sites that you can do that, Ive seen a few, but Im always leary of that.
