Earn Rewards Just by Watching TV!

There are lots of ways to make money just by browsing the internet, but I’ve always wondered: what about watching television? While I’m sure people now spend more time glued to their smartphones and tablets, television would still present a great opportunity to advertisers and businesses looking for exposure. So I did some research and found two sites that pay you for watching TV. You can watch either online, or on a regular TV, which gives you a better range of options.

So let’s get to it!

Perk TV

Perk TV was the first site I found. The site has an online rewards program centered on specific shows and movie. To use it, you first need to download the app with one of the links below. Also - use invite code d5bb4c07 to get 50 free tokens.

Link: http://perk.tv
iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/perk-tv-get-rewards-when-you/id706630901
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.juteralabs.perktv

How Does Perk TV Work?

You earn “Perks Points” by watching movie or app trailers, as well as other videos. You can also earn points by taking Perk Pop Quizzes and using their search engine. You can then use your points to get gift cards, or even enter the Perk Sweepstakes, which has cool prizes, such as iPads and video game consoles.

Viggle

Viggle was the next site I found. And from the looks of it, it’s one of the more popular sites that rewards you for watching. You also need to download their app before you can start earning points:

Link: http://viggle.tv
iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/viggle/id487066871?mt=8
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.functionx.viggle&hl=en

How Does Viggle Work?

Viggle is a rewards program that lets you earn points by “checking in” when you watch shows. The more TV you watch, the more points you earn, but it also depends on the program you’re watching and the number of minutes you stay checked in. You can claim up to 6,000 points (equivalent to 12 hours of viewing) per day. You can then use these points to redeem some cool items like appliances.

GrabPoints

Both Perk TV and Viggle are great, but GrabPoints is by far my favorite. What I love about it is that it has additional ways to earn. Watching videos is its most popular method, but you can also answers surveys, take offers, play games, and download apps. I call GrabPoints a “full-service” rewards program. To get started, follow the link below and register for free:

How Does GrabPoints Work?

You earn points for watching videos, as well as participating in the other activities. As mentioned a while ago, this includes taking surveys, offers, playing games, and downloading apps.

Earning potential depends on how much time you’re willing to put in. But the best thing about GrapPoints is that there is NO LIMIT to how many videos you watch! This is a big deal to me, because I happen to love watching videos.

You get one point just by tapping on “GrabPoints TV” and "Watch Videos". Watching the actual videos also earns you one point. You can then trade your points for gift cards or cash (which is paid via PayPal).

The Verdict: Legit or Scam?

Both Perk TV, Viggle, and GrabPoints are legit! They’re fun ways to earn points and get some cool rewards in the processing. I love watching TV, and using these two apps felt totally natural. I mean, I’m already watching TV anyways, might as well monetize it, right?

Your Turn

This is my review based on my own experiences. Now it’s your turn to share.

Have you found other ways to earn money or rewards while watching TV? And how much did you make?

Let’s hear your stories!

Title is a little missleading. I would say this is paid to watch ads instead.
That's incorrect. The above-mentioned sites actually have you watch TV clips. Some of them are actual news clips, others are long 5 to 10-minute promo videos of an actual show, while some are short burst clips of whatever category you've chosen. Let's say you clicked celebrities, you will most of the times then be watching short celebrity news clips, think TMZ style. All of these, of course, are running ads/video ads in between to monetize and to be able to pay you for watching whatever it is you've chosen to watch.

I see, that's good to know. The reward TVs I've tried so far has been mainly ads and promo clips only. But will check out these TV related ones. Should be an easy way to earn a few bucks.

I had grabpoints at one time and I redeemed points for a giftcard. Then they told me to be more active or lose my points. After emailing the admin, They said I was set. A week later my points were gone even though I was still active and talked to admin. I asked what happened and they said I lost points due to inactivity so I deleted the app and never went back . Now I use engagetv and watch videos and get points that way;)

Losing points as a result of inactivity sucks but its pretty common with any reward app or loyalty app for that matter. If you lost your points with GrabPoints its because you didn't do any money making actions within 28 days. It states this pretty clearly in their TOS, you probably just did the free trivia's and claimed free points only. You have to ask yourself this question, if these apps don't get paid how will they pay you and if you only do free actions of course they will not pay you. Money makes the world go around.

Watching vids is one of my favourite ways to earn but in the UK we cannot get Grabpoints TV or Hyprmix. We do get Engage Me and Smores but there are often no ads running which can be annoying. Also we need 26000 points to be able to cash out on Perk over here .. I would probably be dead before I reached that amount . I could never get Viggle either but isn't it part of Perk now?

I used to like watching the Instagc player. It's slow but it did award a point for every video and if you had more than one player running it didn't take too long. The only problem with this is the third party host would often put a soft ban on your IP address but you could reset your router to get it running again.
