Don’t miss out! You might be entitled to settlements from these class action suits.

I’m going to talk about class action lawsuits, but don’t worry; this won’t be a scary article. Most people tend to tense up when the word “lawsuit” is brought up, but I’ll be writing how verdicts on class action lawsuits that benefit you! And no, you don’t even have to wear a tie or go to court to benefit.

Below is a list of recent class action lawsuits, which might entitle you to rebates or settlements. Companies give out tons of these things a year as settlement, so it’s time for you to check if you’re eligible.

Before you jump in, let’s talk about class action lawsuits for a bit.

What’s a class action lawsuit?

I’m not a lawyer, so I won’t get into the legal nitty-gritty, but basically, a class action lawsuit is a type of lawsuit where a single person or entity represents a large group of people.

Let’s say large corporation releases a defective product that potentially affects millions of people. You can’t have millions of people cramming into a courtroom, so a single representative of that group goes to court.

Think of these as bonuses or rebates. If eligible, you fill out a form and wait for that free money to come.

Managing your expectations

Now, it’s exciting to learn that you’re eligible for something. But don’t expect multi-million payouts from the cases listed here. And besides, larger settlements are tied to bigger tragedies… and who would want that?

Additional info

Each case has its own specific methodology for handing out settlements. But there are some things that could be considered standard across different cases. Keep in mind these things:

Timeframe

Settlement cheques are sent out between 30 or 60 days after claim deadline. So keep that in mind and set expectations accordingly.

Receipt

To prove that you were a customer, you’ll need a proof of purchase. This is why we’ve been taught to keep all receipts. Some cases don’t require it, but it’s always recommendable to have this ready.

Pay it forward

Sometimes, we win money even if the offense of the corporation wasn’t too egregious or life-threatening. If that were the case, I suggest sharing some of your free money by donating to charity. It’s always nice to pass the good karma forward.

The Verdict: Legit or Scam?

This isn’t a product review, but if you’re eligible for a settlement, the process is Legit!

Remember to file your claim right away and be mindful of those deadlines.
